These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TrustScan ("Service"), a Chrome browser extension and associated web services operated by TrustScan AI ("we", "us", or "our"). By installing the extension or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Description of Service
TrustScan is a Chrome browser extension that analyzes Gmail messages using AI to detect phishing attempts, scams, fraud, and AI-generated content. The Service assigns an instant trust score to each email and displays a traffic-light verdict inside Gmail. TrustScan is available on a free tier and via paid subscription plans.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use TrustScan. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using TrustScan on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Account and Credits
To access paid features, you must create an account and purchase a subscription plan. Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance. Credits are consumed when you analyze an email. Unused credits do not roll over to the following month. If you exhaust your monthly credits, email scanning will pause until credits reset at the start of your next billing cycle.
4. Subscription and Billing
- Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance depending on your selected billing cycle.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email before any price change takes effect.
- We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use TrustScan only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service.
- Use the Service to process email content you are not authorized to access.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service without our written permission.
- Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service in ways not intended by us.
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits, credit systems, or access controls.
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations, including data protection laws.
6. Intellectual Property
TrustScan and all associated trademarks, logos, software, and content are the property of TrustScan AI. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service. You retain ownership of your own email content — we do not claim any rights over it.
7. Privacy and Data
Your use of TrustScan is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Email content submitted for analysis is processed ephemerally and is not stored permanently. We comply with applicable data protection laws including GDPR.
8. Disclaimers
TrustScan is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that all phishing and scam attempts will be detected. Email security analysis is probabilistic — no system catches every threat. You should not rely solely on TrustScan as your only email security measure.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TrustScan AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to TrustScan at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. You may stop using TrustScan at any time by uninstalling the extension and cancelling your subscription. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts.
